Sony Unveils June PlayStation Plus Games and Bonus Catalog Titles
Sony's PlayStation Days of Play event brings exciting June games for PS Plus subscribers across all tiers, featuring Destiny 2: The Final Shape and NBA 2K25. Extra and Premium members gain access to bonus Game Catalog titles like Another Crab's Treasure and Destiny 2: Legacy Collection, offering extended gameplay anytime.
Every year, Sony celebrates its PlayStation Days of Play event around late May to early June, offering gamers community activities and exclusive sales. This year, the event runs through June 11 and includes the announcement of June’s PlayStation Plus monthly games and bonus Game Catalog titles.
PlayStation Plus, Sony’s subscription gaming service, offers three tiers: Essential ($10/month), Extra ($15/month), and Premium ($18/month). While all tiers get access to monthly games for a limited time, only Extra and Premium subscribers enjoy the Game Catalog, which provides on-demand access to a growing library of games.
June’s Monthly PS Plus Games
For June, all PS Plus subscribers can enjoy these titles for a limited period:
Destiny 2: The Final Shape – An expansive addition to the popular first-person shooter featuring new abilities, a Prismatic subclass, and a mission to stop the formidable Witness.
NBA 2K25 – Available June 3, this basketball simulation lets players manage teams in MyGM mode or create their own star player.
Other June releases include Alone in the Dark and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, both available starting June 3.
Bonus Titles for Extra and Premium Subscribers
Subscribers at the Extra and Premium levels gain access to the PS Plus Game Catalog, which allows unlimited play of select titles anytime. New additions include:
Another Crab's Treasure (May 29) – A unique adventure blending Elden Ring and Ecco the Dolphin themes, where players control a hermit crab navigating ocean pollution.
Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (June 4) – This edition expands the base game with new subclasses, dungeons, and the Witch Queen and Lightfall expansions, adding over 20 hours of gameplay.
Additional upcoming catalog games include Skull and Bones (June 2), Myst and Riven (June 5), and Grand Theft Auto 3 (June 10). Note that Myst and Riven are exclusive to Premium subscribers.
PlayStation Plus subscriptions start at $10 per month, offering gamers a tiered experience tailored to their preferences and gaming habits. This model reflects the growing trend of subscription-based gaming services competing for player engagement and retention.
For developers and gaming companies, understanding the dynamics of subscription tiers and curated game catalogs is crucial. Services like PlayStation Plus demonstrate how offering both limited-time and on-demand content can maximize subscriber satisfaction and lifetime value.
