MSI has unveiled its latest gaming handheld, the Claw A8, powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip. This new device was showcased at Computex 2025 and represents MSI’s continued commitment to delivering high-performance portable gaming solutions.

The Claw A8 features up to 24GB of DDR5 memory, an 8-inch full HD display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1TB M.2 SSD for ample storage. While it offers slightly less RAM than the previous Intel-powered Claw 8 AI Plus, it maintains strong performance credentials suitable for demanding gaming applications.

MSI also introduced a new color palette for the Claw A8, available in white and lime green, catering to gamers seeking both style and substance in their handheld devices.

In addition to the AMD-powered Claw A8, MSI revealed the Claw 8 AI Plus “Polar Tempest” edition, equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor and a 2TB NVMe SSD. This edition features a distinctive “glittering” white coating, enhancing its premium appeal.

While MSI has not announced pricing or release dates for these new models, industry expectations suggest pricing will align closely with the previous Intel-powered Claw 8 Plus, which retailed around $999.99.
