Leica Lux App Adds Pro Photographer Greg Williams Artist Look for iPhone Photos

Leica has introduced a new feature called Artist Looks in its Lux camera app for iPhones, marking a novel collaboration with professional photographers to create filter presets that emulate their distinctive photographic styles.

The first Artist Look is designed by British celebrity photographer Greg Williams. His preset converts color photos into black-and-white images inspired by Kodak Tri-X film, with a subtle shift in white tones to produce a vintage warm feel. This approach offers iPhone users a professional aesthetic with just one click.

The Greg Williams Artist Look is available in the Leica Lux app version 1.7 for iOS, accessible to Lux Pro subscribers or those who purchase Leica’s phone grip accessory. This expands the app’s existing suite of Leica-tuned filters and lens-based portrait modes, enhancing the creative options for smartphone photographers.

Additionally, Leica’s Fotos app now supports downloading the Greg Williams Artist Look directly to compatible Leica cameras like the Q3 and SL3 series, allowing photographers to apply the filter in-camera. For other Leica models with Wi-Fi, the Fotos app can apply the look to JPEG files, broadening access to this professional style without extra cost beyond owning the camera.
