Yield Guild Games Launches LOL Land to Pioneer Casual Degen Web3 Gaming

Yield Guild Games (YGG), a leader in the Web3 gaming ecosystem, has expanded its footprint by launching its first game, LOL Land, under a new publishing division called YGG Play. This initiative targets a fresh gaming category dubbed “Casual Degen,” designed for crypto enthusiasts who enjoy lighthearted, addictive gameplay infused with the culture of crypto degeneracy.

LOL Land is a browser-based casual board game featuring four distinct thematic boards—YGG City, Beach Day, Carnival, and Ice World Wonderland. The latter includes playable characters from the Pudgy Penguins NFT community, such as Aaron Teng and Rusk0f, with YGG cofounder Gabby Dizon also represented as a character. The game offers two modes: a free mode with unlimited rolls but no token rewards, and a premium mode where players can earn points redeemable for YGG tokens.

The game launched exclusively on Abstract Chain, a platform developed by Igloo Inc., which simplifies Web3 onboarding through social logins and passkeys. Prior to launch, LOL Land amassed over 116,000 pre-registrations, underscoring strong community interest. Players compete for a prize pool worth $10 million in YGG tokens, funded on May 1, incentivizing engagement and rewarding participation.

Gabby Dizon, YGG’s cofounder and a veteran game developer, explained that YGG’s deep experience with hundreds of Web3 games and its extensive community insights shaped the creation of YGG Play. The goal is to serve the larger “Casual Degen” market—crypto users who engage with memecoins, NFTs, and exchanges but are not hardcore gamers. This segment represents a significant opportunity within the Web3 space that has been underserved until now.

YGG’s guild network spans 11 global regions, with over 112,000 Discord members and more than 300,000 users engaging with its Guild Advancement Program. This extensive community infrastructure enables YGG to support new game launches with dedicated players, community management, marketing, esports, content creation, and education, providing a comprehensive ecosystem for early-stage Web3 gaming projects.
