TikTok has expanded its "Manage Topics" feature globally, empowering users to tailor the content they see on their For You page. This tool enables users to control the frequency of videos from popular categories such as sports, travel, humor, creative arts, and dance. By adjusting sliders for each category, users influence how often related videos appear, allowing for a more personalized and engaging feed experience.

While these settings do not completely eliminate topics, they adapt recommendations based on evolving user interests. TikTok notes that changes may take some time to reflect in the feed, emphasizing a dynamic personalization process that respects user preferences without narrowing content diversity excessively.

Users can access Manage Topics via their settings under Content preferences or directly through the Share menu on any For You page video. This seamless integration encourages users to actively shape their content consumption without disrupting their browsing flow.

In addition to topic management, TikTok has enhanced its keyword filtering system with AI-powered smart filters. These filters not only block specific keywords entered by users but also restrict content containing related terms in captions, hashtags, or descriptions. This advanced filtering improves content control, helping users avoid unwanted themes more effectively.

TikTok plans to allow users to view and customize the related keywords being filtered, enhancing transparency and control. Furthermore, the platform will increase the keyword filter limit from 100 to over 200 per user, accommodating more comprehensive content preferences.
