Ticketmaster Now Displays Full Ticket Prices Including Fees Upfront

Ticketmaster has introduced an “All In Prices” feature that shows the full cost of tickets, including service fees, before checkout. This change complies with the FTC’s ban on hidden fees starting May 12, 2025. While local taxes and delivery fees still appear at checkout, customers can now see a clear breakdown of ticket face value and service charges upfront, enhancing price transparency and addressing past consumer frustrations.

Ticketmaster has launched a significant update called “All In Prices” that displays the full price of tickets, including service fees, before customers reach the checkout stage. This initiative is part of Ticketmaster’s effort to comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s new ban on hidden or junk fees, which took effect on May 12, 2025.

Previously, customers often faced surprise fees only revealed at checkout, leading to frustration and distrust. Now, Ticketmaster shows the ticket’s face value and service fees upfront through a dropdown menu on the ticket selection page. However, local taxes and delivery fees are still disclosed later in the checkout process.

This change comes amid increased scrutiny of Ticketmaster following the 2022 Taylor Swift ticketing issues and ongoing legal challenges. The U.S. Department of Justice sued Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation last year, alleging monopolistic practices that drive up ticket prices. Additionally, the House of Representatives passed the TICKET Act in 2024, which mandates upfront full price disclosure by ticket sellers and is now pending in the Senate.

Besides pricing transparency, Ticketmaster has improved its queue system by providing real-time updates on ticket availability and estimated wait times exceeding 30 minutes. Customers can also see the exact number of people ahead in the queue, enhancing the overall user experience during high-demand ticket sales.

The move toward upfront fee disclosure aligns Ticketmaster with broader industry trends aimed at increasing consumer protection and trust in online ticket sales. Transparent pricing not only benefits consumers by reducing surprise costs but also encourages fair competition and regulatory compliance within the ticketing market.

For businesses and developers, implementing clear and upfront pricing models is becoming essential to meet regulatory requirements and enhance customer satisfaction. Leveraging technology to provide transparent fee breakdowns and real-time service updates can differentiate platforms in competitive markets and foster long-term loyalty.
