India’s home services market, including cleaning, dishwashing, and laundry, has historically been informal and offline, leading to unpredictable service quality and job insecurity for workers. However, the emergence of tech startups is reshaping this landscape by introducing reliability, scalability, and structure.

Snabbit, founded in 2023, is a pioneer in this transformation. It allows customers to book high-frequency home services through an app, delivering services as fast as 10 minutes in Mumbai and Bengaluru. The startup recently raised $19 million in a Series B round led by Lightspeed, valuing it at $80 million, to expand across India’s metro cities.

Founder and CEO Aayush Agarwal was inspired to start Snabbit after experiencing firsthand the difficulty of finding reliable domestic help. His vision was to bring the same convenience to home services as exists for cabs, food delivery, and other on-demand services.

Snabbit’s approach is “full-stack”: it sources, screens, trains, and manages workers—called “experts”—and strategically positions them near demand centers to meet the 10-minute service promise. The startup currently supports over 600 workers, many of whom earn significantly more than typical domestic helpers in urban India, with added benefits like insurance and an SOS safety feature.

To enhance worker mobility, Snabbit partners with mobility startup Yulu to provide e-bikes, especially empowering women workers to cover larger distances efficiently. This logistical innovation helps maintain quick turnaround times and worker safety.

Despite competition from established players like Urban Company and newer entrants such as Broomees and Pronto, Snabbit continues to grow rapidly—reporting 20% week-over-week growth and expanding to multiple micro markets within Mumbai and Bengaluru. Its customer acquisition cost is relatively high at ₹700 ($8), but strong retention and frequent repeat usage help balance economics.

Snabbit’s pricing ranges from ₹169 to ₹499 ($2 to $6) for up to 240 minutes of service, higher than some competitors but justified by consistent quality and a tech-driven customer experience. Its proprietary tech stack includes an internal CRM, sourcing pipeline, and eKYC compliance tools, ensuring smooth operations and regulatory adherence.

The startup also addresses a critical social issue: the protection and empowerment of domestic workers. It offers personal, health, and accidental insurance, family coverage for long-term workers, and a rapid-response SOS feature to combat workplace abuse—an unfortunately common problem in India’s largely unregulated domestic labor market.

Looking ahead, Snabbit aims to scale to over 200 micro markets in India’s metro areas within nine months, leveraging fresh capital and expanding its workforce. However, the challenge remains to sustain growth and customer loyalty in a sector where hyperlocal consumer apps have historically struggled due to high costs and thin margins.

Snabbit’s journey exemplifies how technology can professionalize and scale a traditionally informal sector, turning what was once a luxury into an everyday necessity. By focusing on speed, trust, and worker welfare, it is setting new standards for home services in India.
