Roblox launches Moments and major AI upgrades

At its developer conference, Roblox unveiled a TikTok-like short-form video experience called "Roblox Moments," now in beta for users 13 and older. Players can capture up to 30-second gameplay clips, add music and descriptions, react with emojis, and jump directly into experiences from a video.

Roblox says the feature will roll out gradually so moderation can be tested and refined. All content is moderated before posting and users can report inappropriate videos, reflecting the company’s ongoing focus on safety and age-appropriate experiences.

Roblox introduced generative AI that goes beyond static 3D assets: creators can prompt the platform to produce fully functional objects — starting with select vehicles and weapons — that are playable and editable. On the platform side, Roblox is rolling out a "Server Authority" mode to cut cheating and improve physics realism. Avatars will gain more lifelike motion and finer interactions like grasping objects. The platform will also aim to raise visual fidelity across devices without extra creator effort.
