Razer Launches HyperFlux V2 Mousepad with Wireless Charging Puck
Razer introduces the HyperFlux V2, a wireless charging mousepad compatible with several Razer mice. Unlike its predecessor, it uses a small puck adapter to charge batteries continuously while in use. The pad also supports wireless connectivity for Razer mice and keyboards via HyperSpeed technology, offering a seamless and reliable gaming experience.
Razer has unveiled the HyperFlux V2, an innovative wireless charging mousepad designed to keep your compatible wireless mice powered during use. This new iteration improves upon the original HyperFlux by supporting multiple mouse models through a small adapter puck, rather than requiring a dedicated mouse with built-in charging capabilities.
Priced at $119.99, the HyperFlux V2 is available in two versions: a hard surface currently on sale, and a softer cloth surface expected later this year. Unlike the original HyperFlux, which was bundled with the Mamba HyperFlux mouse at a higher price point, the V2 mousepad is sold separately and is compatible with four Razer mice models ranging from $129.99 to $179.99.
The key innovation lies in the charging method: a small puck adapter inserted into the bottom of supported mice wirelessly charges their batteries while on the pad. This approach mirrors Logitech’s Powerplay system, allowing continuous charging without cables. An LED indicator on the mousepad provides real-time battery charge status through color changes.
Beyond charging, the HyperFlux V2 mousepad also functions as a wireless receiver, enabling Razer’s mice and keyboards to connect to a PC via the company’s proprietary HyperSpeed technology. This technology offers faster and more reliable wireless connections than traditional Bluetooth, enhancing gaming performance and reducing latency.
While the mousepad supports wireless connectivity for Razer’s wireless keyboards such as the BlackWidow V3 Pro and DeathStalker V2 Pro, it does not provide wireless charging for these keyboards. This distinction highlights the mousepad’s primary focus on mouse charging and connectivity.
Razer’s HyperFlux V2 mousepad represents a significant step forward in wireless peripheral technology, offering gamers and professionals a more flexible and convenient way to keep their devices charged and connected. By adopting a puck adapter system, Razer broadens compatibility and usability, making wireless charging more accessible across multiple devices.
As wireless charging technology continues to evolve, products like the HyperFlux V2 highlight the growing demand for seamless, cable-free experiences in gaming and computing peripherals. This innovation not only reduces clutter but also ensures uninterrupted performance during critical tasks and gameplay.
