Peloton recently reported its Q3 2025 earnings, addressing concerns about tariffs and emphasizing the company's strong subscription-based revenue model. Despite hardware facing a 25 percent tariff due to aluminum use and apparel tariffs linked to China, Peloton remains confident in its business resilience. CFO Liz Coddington pointed out that fitness spending historically grows even during economic downturns, underscoring the sector's durability.

Peloton’s CEO, Peter Stern, highlighted the strategic integration of artificial intelligence to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. AI is being used to assist customer support teams by automating call note-taking, translating thousands of fitness classes into multiple languages, and creating personalized workout plans that simulate a personal coaching experience.

Stern described AI as a tool that can give humans "superpowers," enabling Peloton’s instructors to develop tailored fitness programs efficiently. Since launching AI-powered personalized plans in Q3, Peloton has set up over half a million customized plans, demonstrating rapid adoption and user engagement.

To mitigate tariff impacts and maintain affordability, Peloton offers zero percent interest financing, bike rental programs, and refurbished models. The company also appointed Charles Kirol as Chief Operating Officer to focus on supply chain logistics and cost management, aiming to optimize operations amid economic uncertainties.

Despite a 27 percent year-over-year decline in hardware sales and a slight drop in subscription revenue, Peloton raised its financial outlook slightly, signaling confidence in its strategic direction. The company’s commitment to leveraging AI and enhancing customer experience positions it well for future growth in the competitive fitness technology market.
