Nvidia Expands Omniverse Blueprint for AI Factory Digital Twins with Industry Leaders
Nvidia has expanded its Omniverse Blueprint for AI factory digital twins, integrating power, cooling, and networking ecosystems with partners including Siemens, Delta Electronics, Jacobs, Cadence, Schneider Electric, and Vertiv. This unified platform leverages OpenUSD and SimReady standards to enable engineers to design, simulate, and optimize AI factories in virtual environments, improving efficiency, reliability, and early issue detection before physical construction.
Nvidia recently announced a major expansion of its Omniverse Blueprint for AI factory digital twins, now available as a preview. This enhanced blueprint integrates power, cooling, and networking ecosystems from leading industry partners such as Delta Electronics, Jacobs, Siemens, Cadence, Schneider Electric with ETAP, and Vertiv. The announcement was made at Computex 2025 in Taiwan, highlighting the growing ecosystem focused on unifying the design and simulation of billions of components necessary to build AI factories digitally.
By leveraging digital twins, these companies enable engineering teams to design, simulate, and optimize entire AI factories within physically accurate virtual environments. This approach facilitates early detection of potential issues and supports the development of smarter, more reliable AI manufacturing facilities. The blueprint is built on reference architectures for Nvidia GB200 NVL72-powered AI factories and utilizes Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) asset libraries to aggregate detailed 3D and simulation data into a unified model.
The Omniverse Blueprint unifies AI factory power, cooling, and networking components in one simulation environment. Siemens contributes 3D models adhering to the SimReady standardization effort, while Delta Electronics provides equipment models built with OpenUSD for accurate simulation. Jacobs assists in testing and optimizing the end-to-end blueprint workflow. Established leaders like Schneider Electric with ETAP and Vertiv supply SimReady assets to populate the digital twin with detailed models of power, cooling, and mechanical systems.
According to Tanuj Khandelwal, CEO of ETAP, the rapid scaling of AI factories is reshaping digital infrastructure due to increasing energy demands. The Omniverse Blueprint and SimReady assets allow customers to test and optimize energy efficiency for complex AI workloads before construction begins, reducing risk and improving sustainability.
Integration with platforms like Cadence Reality Digital Twin and ETAP enables thermal and power simulation, allowing engineering teams to optimize power, cooling, and networking systems early in the design process. This collaboration helps reshape AI infrastructure development to achieve smarter designs, minimize downtime, and maximize operational efficiency.
The SimReady standardization workflow is a key enhancement to the blueprint, offering a publicly available, industry-agnostic framework for developing physics-based OpenUSD models. These models enable standardized simulations of thermal airflow and other physical phenomena within digital twins, facilitating rapid, large-scale industrial AI simulations of power, cooling, building automation, and IT operations.
The expansion of Nvidia’s Omniverse Blueprint represents a significant advancement in AI infrastructure engineering. By providing a unified, physically accurate digital twin environment based on OpenUSD and guided by SimReady standards, the blueprint enables stakeholders to de-risk development, optimize performance, and accelerate deployment of next-generation AI factories. This innovation is crucial for meeting the escalating global demand for AI capabilities with smarter, more efficient infrastructure.
