Nintendo Switch 2 Unveiled with New Features and Game Lineup

Nintendo's Switch 2, launching June 5, offers a 7.9-inch, 1080p screen, 4K gaming, and enhanced Joy-Cons. With a $450 price, it features Mario Kart World and GameCube classics.

The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 was officially unveiled during the Nintendo Direct event, sparking excitement across the gaming community. Set to launch on June 5, the console is priced at $450, with a special bundle including Mario Kart World available for $500. This new iteration of the Switch boasts significant technical upgrades, including a 7.9-inch, 1080p resolution LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the capability to run games in 4K resolution when docked. The console also features 256GB of internal storage and supports the new microSD Express cards for faster game loading.

One of the standout features of the Switch 2 is its enhanced Joy-Con controllers, which now include a new C button for GameChat communication, allowing both voice and video chat. This feature is complemented by the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera, which facilitates video chat and various camera-based game modes. Nintendo has announced an impressive lineup of games for the Switch 2, including both new titles and enhanced versions of existing favorites. In a move to expand its gaming library, Nintendo is adding GameCube games to the Nintendo Switch Online service. At launch, players can enjoy titles like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and F-Zero GX, with enhanced graphics and online multiplayer capabilities. A wireless GameCube controller with a C button for GameChat will also be available.
