The Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) has released the Matter 1.4.1 specification, introducing key features designed to simplify smart home device setup and improve user experience. Matter, a collaborative smart home interoperability standard developed by industry leaders including Apple, Amazon, Google, and Samsung, aims to create a unified, secure, and easy-to-use ecosystem for connected devices.

The 1.4.1 update introduces two standout features: multi-device QR codes and tap-to-pair onboarding via NFC. Multi-device QR codes allow users to set up multiple devices from a single QR code scan, streamlining the process for multi-packs like smart bulbs or plugs. This eliminates the need to scan individual codes for each device, saving time and reducing setup complexity.
