iOS 18.4 Update Enhances Control Center with New Features

Apple's latest iOS 18.4 update, released on March 31, introduces a range of enhancements designed to improve user experience and functionality. This update builds on the significant changes introduced with iOS 18, which revamped the Control Center to offer users more customization options. With iOS 18, users gained the ability to resize controls, assign them to dedicated pages, and adjust their placement, transforming the Control Center into a personalized hub for frequently used features.

The iOS 18.4 update continues this trend by expanding the number of controls available in the Control Center. Notably, it introduces Ambient Music controls, which include Sleep, Chill, Productivity, and Wellbeing categories. These controls activate playlists tailored to specific activities, such as helping users fall asleep or focus on tasks. To access these new controls, users can swipe down from the top-right corner of their home screen to open the Control Center, tap the plus sign, and add the desired Ambient Music controls. Users can also customize playlists for each control, selecting from preloaded options or their personal music library.

In addition to Ambient Music, the update introduces Apple Intelligence controls, available to users with iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, or iPhone 16 models. These controls include Talk to Siri, Type to Siri, and Visual Intelligence, enhancing the functionality of Apple's digital assistant. Visual Intelligence, previously exclusive to the iPhone 16 lineup, is now accessible on more devices, offering users advanced AI capabilities.
