Elden Ring Nightreign Scenic Flatstone Explained

Elden Ring Nightreign features the Jar Bazaar, where players spend Murk currency to buy meta-progression items like Scenic Flatstones. These act as lootboxes, granting random relics that enhance your Nightfarers with buffs and abilities. While the shop expands with expedition progress, Scenic Flatstones offer a way to acquire diverse relics and optimize your builds.

Elden Ring Nightreign is a roguelike action RPG where players form squads to battle massive bosses through randomized expeditions. Between these runs, players can strengthen their characters, called Nightfarers, by using the meta-progression currency known as Murk.

At the heart of this progression system is the Jar Bazaar, a shop located in the Roundtable Hold hub and run by an adorable living jar. Here, players spend Murk to purchase relics, vessels, cosmetics, and communication tools like gestures and voicelines.

One of the most intriguing items in the Jar Bazaar is the Scenic Flatstone, available from the start for 600 Murk each. Unlike fixed items, the Scenic Flatstone acts like a relic lootbox, granting a random relic that can be equipped on your Nightfarers.

Relics come in four colors—red, yellow, blue, and green—and vary in size. Small relics provide one passive buff, medium relics grant two, and large relics offer three buffs. These buffs range from stat boosts like vitality and endurance to resistances against ailments such as frostbite or Scarlet Rot.

Some relics even provide unique Nightfarer-specific enhancements, like extra ability charges or elemental effects on ultimate skills. However, the Scenic Flatstone cannot yield certain unique relics tied to boss defeats or special items like the Old Pocketwatch.

Purchasing a Scenic Flatstone is essentially a gamble. The random relic might not fit your current Nightfarer builds, especially if you focus on a limited set of characters. Still, it’s a valuable option when the Jar Bazaar’s fixed relic offerings don’t meet your needs.

Since many Murk purchases outside relics are cosmetic, players often accumulate excess currency. Spending this surplus on Scenic Flatstones lets you explore new relic combinations. Plus, unwanted relics can be sold back to recover some Murk, allowing for repeated attempts at better rolls.

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Notably, owning the original Elden Ring is not required to play this standalone roguelike experience.
