Console, founded by Andrei Serban, automates routine IT helpdesk tasks like password resets and app access through an AI assistant integrated with Slack. If you’ve ever been locked out of your work computer, you know the frustration of waiting for IT support. This common pain point inspired Andrei Serban, a former product lead at Rippling, to rethink how IT helpdesks handle routine tasks.

After Rippling acquired his startup Fuzzbuzz in 2023, Serban saw an opportunity to automate repetitive helpdesk functions such as password resets, app access approvals, and basic troubleshooting using AI. This vision led him to found Console, a startup focused on freeing IT teams from mundane tasks.

Console stands out by offering rapid deployment through seamless Slack integration, avoiding the lengthy and complex installations typical of competitors like Moveworks. This means companies can have an AI helpdesk assistant up and running within weeks without replacing their existing support infrastructure.

Employees simply message Console on Slack, and the AI assistant quickly responds by leveraging detailed knowledge about the user’s device and permissions. Impressively, Console autonomously resolves over half of all requests, escalating only complex issues to human IT staff.

This approach not only accelerates issue resolution but also empowers IT professionals to focus on strategic projects rather than repetitive tasks. As companies digitize more operations, such AI-powered helpdesks become increasingly vital to maintaining productivity and security.

Console’s rapid adoption by customers like Scale AI, Flock Safety, and Calendly has attracted $6.2 million in seed funding from Thrive Capital, which sees AI’s potential to revolutionize IT support. Thrive’s partner Vince Hankes highlights that Console’s technology will deepen integration and become indispensable as it evolves.

Looking ahead, Console aims to expand beyond IT, supporting employee requests in HR, finance, and legal, positioning itself as the first point of contact for workplace assistance.

Why Console’s AI Helpdesk Matters

The traditional helpdesk model often struggles with high volumes of repetitive requests, leading to delays and frustrated employees. Console’s AI assistant acts like a tireless co-worker, handling routine tasks instantly and accurately.

By integrating quickly with existing tools like Slack, Console eliminates the barrier of complex IT overhauls, making AI adoption accessible even for companies without large IT transformation budgets.

This efficiency boost translates into faster issue resolution, happier employees, and more time for IT teams to innovate and tackle complex challenges.

The Future of AI in Workplace Support

Console’s vision to expand AI assistance into HR, finance, and legal reflects a broader trend of AI becoming the frontline interface for employee support across multiple departments.

As AI systems learn from user interactions and integrate deeper into company workflows, they will not only resolve issues faster but also anticipate needs and provide proactive assistance.

This evolution promises to transform workplace productivity and employee experience, making AI-powered assistants indispensable partners in daily operations.
