Cadillac has reintroduced its legacy of bespoke luxury with the launch of the Celestiq, an all-electric fastback priced at $360,000. This vehicle marks a bold step in the brand’s effort to reclaim its status as a leader in American luxury automobiles, blending advanced technology with handcrafted design.

The Celestiq features a powerful 655-horsepower drivetrain capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds. Despite its substantial weight of over 6,000 pounds, the car offers agile handling supported by GM’s Magnetic Ride Control suspension system, delivering a connected and responsive driving experience uncommon in ultra-luxury vehicles.

Inside, the Celestiq boasts a spacious, four-seat layout with multiway adjustable rear seats equipped with massage functions and individual climate controls. A standout feature is the massive Smart Glass roof, which allows each occupant to adjust the opacity of their section independently via touchscreen controls, enhancing comfort and ambiance.

The vehicle’s interior technology includes a 55-inch advanced HD display spanning the dashboard, integrating infotainment powered by Google and safety controls. Complementing this is a 38-speaker AKG sound system developed with Dolby Atmos, delivering an immersive audio experience with speakers embedded even in the headrests.

Cadillac has also equipped the Celestiq with the latest in autonomous driving technology. The Ultra Cruise system, an evolution of GM’s Super Cruise, incorporates cameras, radar, and LiDAR sensors discreetly integrated beneath carbon-fiber body panels, enabling hands-free driving on secondary roads when activated.

The design and engineering teams collaborated closely to balance aesthetic ambitions with functional requirements. To maintain a sleek roofline and passenger comfort, engineers innovated by repositioning battery cells from the floor to a central tunnel, allowing for lower rear footwells without compromising the vehicle’s 300-mile range.

Each Celestiq is hand-assembled at GM’s Artisan Center in Michigan, utilizing advanced manufacturing techniques such as large aluminum mega castings and over 115 3D-printed parts. This artisanal approach limits production to approximately 400 units annually, emphasizing exclusivity and craftsmanship.

Customization is a hallmark of the Celestiq experience, with over 350,000 color and material combinations available. Nearly half of the customers opt for full bespoke options, supported by a concierge service that ensures all customizations meet safety and engineering standards. Even minute details like visible bolts can be personalized, underscoring Cadillac’s commitment to authenticity.

The Celestiq represents Cadillac’s strategic push to redefine American luxury in the electric vehicle era. By combining cutting-edge software, advanced materials, and meticulous craftsmanship, it aims to compete with established ultra-luxury brands while setting new standards for bespoke EV design.
