Avalon Holographics Launches Novac True Holographic Table Display for Collaborative 3D Visualization
Avalon Holographics has unveiled Novac, the first commercially available true holographic table display that allows multiple users to visualize detailed 3D holograms simultaneously without glasses or tracking devices. Novac supports AI, digital twins, and integrates with platforms like Nvidia Omniverse, Unreal Engine, and Unity. Its real-time depth and multi-perspective viewing enable enhanced collaboration for industries ranging from defense to healthcare and manufacturing.
Avalon Holographics has introduced Novac, the first commercially available true holographic table display designed to revolutionize collaborative 3D visualization. Unlike traditional stereoscopic displays requiring glasses or headsets, Novac enables multiple users to simultaneously view and interact with detailed holograms in real time, fostering enhanced group decision-making without discomfort or fatigue.
Novac’s true holographic technology delivers unparalleled depth and accuracy by reproducing light rays as they exist in the real world, allowing users to walk around the display and explore different perspectives just like a physical object. This multi-angle viewing capability supports real-time collaboration among diverse teams, including military commanders, medical professionals, and factory executives, improving situational awareness and information retention.
Powered by thousands of tiny projectors and a custom optical system, Novac’s display features a 40-inch screen with over 4.5 billion active pixels and a 74-degree viewing angle. It integrates seamlessly with Nvidia RTX GPUs and supports major 3D content creation tools such as Unreal Engine, Unity, and Nvidia Omniverse, as well as standard file formats like OBJ, FBX, and GLTF. This compatibility makes it ideal for industries leveraging digital twins and AI-driven simulations.
Novac has already demonstrated success in defense applications, enabling commanders to visualize operational environments with drone-captured 3D data for mission planning and situational awareness. Medical institutions use it to display volumetric MRI scans, enhancing diagnostic precision. Additionally, its integration with digital twin platforms positions it as a transformative tool for manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and robotics sectors.
Avalon Holographics is actively developing next-generation OLED-based holographic tiles to create larger, more affordable displays suitable for immersive brand experiences in theme parks, esports, retail, and location-based entertainment. With 61 patents and over $65 million in funding, the company is positioned at the forefront of holographic, digital twin, and immersive experience markets projected to grow 25-40% annually over the next five years.
The Novac system’s high data throughput—processing five terabits per second—and sophisticated hardware architecture, including a three-rack RTX server with eight GPUs, enable rich, real-time holographic rendering at 30 frames per second. Although currently large and costly, Avalon’s roadmap aims to reduce size and cost significantly, making true holographic visualization more accessible across industries.
Avalon Holographics’ president, Wally Haas, emphasizes that Novac’s ability to present full light field holograms—reproducing light rays as perceived naturally by human eyes—sets it apart from other light field displays. This technology enables users to gain spatial awareness and interact with 3D data intuitively, which is critical for high-stakes decision-making environments.
Looking ahead, Avalon is raising additional capital to accelerate development of its next-generation holographic displays, aiming to expand applications into entertainment and large-scale immersive environments. The company envisions a future where holographic technology is ubiquitous, transforming how industries visualize data and collaborate in three dimensions.
