Amazon has launched Vulcan, an innovative warehouse robot that mimics human touch through AI-powered tactile sensing. This breakthrough allows Vulcan to pick and stow approximately 75% of the items stocked in Amazon warehouses, a task traditionally performed by human workers.

Unlike previous robots, Vulcan's dextrous arm can navigate the compact, fabric-covered storage pods used by Amazon. It uses force sensors to detect contact and adjust pressure, preventing damage to items. A secondary arm with a suction cup and AI-powered camera ensures precise picking without accidentally grabbing multiple objects.
