This new feature, called “hear the highlights,” features two AI hosts who engage in a conversational overview of a product’s key features and user reviews.
Currently available on select products in Amazon’s mobile app, including items like the Ninja Blender and SHOKZ OpenRun Pro headphones, the feature activates when users tap the “Hear the highlights” button beneath the product description. A playback bar appears, and the AI hosts begin their discussion, blending product specs with insights drawn from customer reviews and web data.
The audio summaries start with a clear notice that the content is AI-generated, followed by an introduction to an AI “expert” host. For example, in the SHOKZ OpenRun Pro clip, the AI host “Max” explains the unique bone conduction technology and discusses pros and cons based on user feedback, such as noise cancellation praise and some critiques about sound volume.
This conversational, podcast-style format mirrors similar AI audio overviews from Google, offering a more engaging and accessible way to digest product information. It’s especially useful for shoppers who prefer listening over reading or want a quick, hands-free summary.
